Colonial Heights Arts & Crafts

project

This 1920’s house had suffered a series of unfortunate remodels and presented a less than attractive façade to a street of lovely homes in Colonial Heights.  A series of additions and renovations completely transformed the exterior and interior, essentially creating a new home while reusing the existing structure.

A primary suite addition above the one-story living room coupled with a front porch expansion resulted in a new gracefully curved roof with a dramatic street appearance. At the back, a spacious new covered outdoor living area opens to a patio and a landscaped garden. The patio includes a covered grill station which replaced an old garage.

The entire interior was completely renovated, including reconfiguration of rooms, simplified circulation, built-in cabinetry, and improved connections to the exterior.  New, period-appropriate windows and doors were added throughout.  Featured in Fine Homebuilding. (Read PDF)

Working with Alexia and Keyan was a wonderful experience. They were able to uncover the character that was hidden in the bones and history of our house
